Ely Area Eventing

We sent a team and one individual for both the novice and intermediate eventing.  We also sent one individual for the open section.

And firstly, a massive well done to Jessica Quinlan, in the open section she won and is heading off to the championships in Cheshire the weekend of the 15th August.  GOOD LUCK !

The novice team was Eloise Stringer, Victoria McIlwraith, Phoebe Plumb and Katie Cameron - Cleo McGregor went as an individual.

The team did very well, especially as this was the first time for all of them competing at area level. All 4 went clear cross country and three went clear showjumping and all posted respectable dressage scores.  In the end, the team finished fifth, which was a very good result for a relatively inexperienced team.  Cleo experienced some difficulties cross country which left her out of the placings, but had a good clear SJ and respectable dressage.

Individually, there were placings for Phoebe Plumb (7th), Eloise Stringer (3rd) and Katie Cameron (9th).

The intermediate team also finished 5th. They were Annabel Molyneux, Sophie Levin, Charlotte Chapple and Amy Stone.  Abi Scott went as an individual.

Again, this was a team who were first timers at intermediate level, so a very good placing.  There were individual placings for Sophie Levin (6th), Annabel Molyneux (8th) and Charlotte Chapple (6th).

Abi Scott peformed a really strong dressage test, but was out of the placings following SJ and cross country.

Overall the day was excellent and the results were very pleasing.  Our members did us proud as a club and there are strong foundations to build on next year.
